Family Visits

Well, this is the first day I have the opportunity to speak with you. My mother left town yesterday to return the the Great White North. I enjoy having her visit, however, I had a commitment that overlapped slightly. I did not get to spend as much time with an out of town friend because I felt like I was a rude host for leaving her with my children and husband for a few hours. She did not seem to have an issue with it but it is hard to tell sometimes. Now, I have the enviable task of cleaning and decluttering my house this week.

On a brighter note, my visit with my friend was fun. I miss her bunches and I hope to see her soon. Maybe a trip to Wichita?! I know may son would have a great time.

Have a great Spring.

The Promise of Spring and Easter.

Ahh Spring.  What comes to mind during this season?  Budding trees, sprouting floral bulbs, the beautiful song of birds? It is amazing what this time of renewal can do to us and all of God's creatures. I know I am cleaning in preparation for guests at Easter but I am also sweeping away the dust and dirt of a rather cold winter. I have anticipated this Spring with a sense of change. An opportunity to put into practice a commitment I made to myself and my family.

As a mom, I am putting away gifts for Easter baskets. However, I have a very inquisitive 4 year old, so I will have to find some new hiding places for birthdays and Christmas. I will be pulling out my decorations on Friday so I can get ready for Easter dinner with our Michigan family.  My son will not know what to do with himself after our guests have left. Enjoy your Easter.  May the warm Spring breezes sweep out the dirt and dust from your life to allow hope, revival and renewal to thrive.

March Madness

We are approaching the Final Four in college basketball today with Michigan State playing Butler and Duke meeting Baylor. I am excited to see MSU in the Elite Eight this year.  The 2009 Championship Game was a real downer for MSU. They played a technically awesome game but could not match the speed of UNC.

I know what you are asking yourself. Why would a stay at home mom blog about college basketball and March Madness? That is a great question. The best answer I can give is--I am a fan of college sports. I have to thank my mom for this interest. We enjoy watching athletes play for guts, glory and scholarship, not multi-millon dollar contracts. It also allows us to relive our college days. Ohh, those were the days!!

Hopefully, MSU will make it to the Final Four and another National Championship game.  They may become National Champs in 2010.

Joining the 21st Century

I have stepped out of my comfort zone today by deciding to become more tech savvy. I am still an old school girl in many ways. My first foray into the internet was just to email and surf, maybe an occasional purchase or two. However, a few days ago, I posted on my Facebook page that I was done with the status quo and I was going to make some major changes. This is just one of many changes I am undertaking; decluttering and organizing my house is the next step. I hope to make a positive step toward weight loss, too, but only time will tell how many changes I can make without giving up. I pray to God for guidance during this journey. Waht do you think?

Welcome!!

This is my first foray into blogging. I am hoping to offer my musings to other SAHMs who may be feeling what I am feeling. Even if no one is touched by this blog, at least I am able to put my daily life and trials into words. I am always open to suggestions on topics to discuss on my blog.

I am a mom of two, who has been awakened by the weasels in Washington that have used this country for their own political games. So, this blog may contain political comments/blogs from time to time.

Enjoy and have a great week! Look for more musings as the weeks and months fly by in 2010.
